ABOUT US
FunLearn Smile has been present since 2022 providing exceptional enrichment and social development opportunities to youth in Kukurantumi (Ghana). We offer youth an opportunity to create and mold their own unique experiences through our wide range of educational activities.
We use a play-based approach to support children's learning and keep children motivated. We see the true power that our youth hold, and we have made it our mission to transform them into natural born leaders, ready to take on the world.
HOW IT STARTED...
In 2019, one of our founders Mr Kofi travelled to Ghana, due to the COVID19 pandemic he was unable to travel back to Italy. During his stay in Ghana, Mr Kofi started to donate sweets and ice creams to the children in the village, after realising the impact that these little gestures were having on the children, he decided to organise parties for them, providing food, gift bags, music and opportunities to play in his garden.
Children enjoyed spending time playing football, tennis and jumping on the trampoline in Mr Kofi's garden.
A lot of parents started to ask for help with school books as they were not able to send their children to school without books.
In 2021 when Louisa (FunLearn Smile founder) went to Kukurantumi and she was amazed by Mr Kofi's support in the community. Louisa had the opportunity to listen and to understand the needs of those children. As a way of supporting children's learning in school, she bought them school books, once back in the UK, Louisa decided to create FunLearn Smile.
